Starting in the fall of 2011 Kennesaw State University will be offering a minor in
Classical Studies.

Student of the Year:

The student nominated for the Student of the Year award should meet the following qualifications:
1)  Be in Latin III or higher
2)  Received awards on the regional, state or national level
3)  Exhibit exemplary commitment to the study of Latin outside the classroom

Nomination Deadline: April 1, 2011*

Teacher of the Year:

The teacher nominated for the Teacher of the Year award should meet the following qualifications:
1)  A member in good standing of the GCA
2)  A Latin or Greek teacher (K-12) in Georgia
3)  Have at least three years of full time experience
4)  Be a member of at least one classical association
5)  Utilize good pedagogical practices in the classroom
6)  Demonstrate continual professional growth

GCA Teacher Scholarship:

The purpose of the scholarship is to assist teachers financially who currently teach Latin in Georgia to undertake summer activities which will be helpful to them professionally. These include:
1)  Study abroad program relating to classics
2)  Graduate work in the classics
3)  ACL Institute
4)  Workshops or institutes in the classics
5)  Any study related to the classics which the applicant deems important and helpful
